A Snakes-N-Scales birthday is a unique experience. Our shows are thematic so you can choose which show your family prefers or have us back many times and not see the same show! We use jokes, stories, "animal's eyes" views of the world, anecdotes, factoids, question and answer and a gentle, controlled, touching experience to make children laugh, think and feel. They will laugh because it's fun, so they will remember it. They will think thanks to our engaging, experienced teachers. They will touch the animal so they will feel it's reality and hopefully someday, when they look back on this birthday, remember and understand that these creatures are our neighbors on Earth.

THE STRANGE WORLD OF REPTILES
This is our most popular show with the four types of reptiles visiting right in your living room. Most of these animals can be touched under the watchful eyes of our instructor. We might bring lizards like a Bearded Dragon, or a Blue-Tongued Skink, or maybe a Leopard Gecko; for turtles you might meet a Box Turtle, African Tortoise or Red-foot Tortoise, a big Boa Constrictor or an amazing Burmese Python will represent the snakes, and as something only Snakes-N-Scales can bring to you, a baby Alligator. (Though Alligators, due to their expense, are extra.) Only the Snakes-N-Scales teacher can touch the Alligator but you can see it very closely! We'll talk about the specialties of each and what they eat, joke about things they do and find out if these creatures make good pets.

KINGDOM OF THE COLDBLOODS
This show is similar to "The Strange World of Reptiles" with lizards, snakes and turtles. But this program also introduces the party to amphibian life with frogs and toads. This gives the show a wider variety of animals, though frogs and toads cannot be touched by the audience. (Alligators are welcome additions if you feel crocodilian!!)

THE GOOD, THE ICKY AND THE SLIMY
Bugs and spiders along with frogs and snakes are thought to be "icky" by many people. Now of "Fear Factor" factor fame, the Madagascar Hissing Cockraoch is really nothing to be afraid of. Tarantulas are actually peace loving creatures, scorpions glow in the dark, yes really!, frogs swallow with their eyes and the number of incredible things to be said about snakes are too many to list! (Or if you like, add an Alligator to the list of our crawling friends.)

YER DESSSPICABLE!!
Movie monsters are almost always based on living creatures. The incredible effects of modern film make the monsters seem more real than the animals they were made from! Very often the animals are shown as man-eaters and hunters of people. But this is shear nonsense! This presentation, which is designed for the 9yrs and older child, looks at the Anaconda, Monitor Lizard, Tarantula, Scorpion, Snapping Turtle and Burmese Python as they are living in our real world. (An Alligator can be quite at home in this show as well.)

REPTILE PHOTO KEEPSAKE
Learn about Reptiles and Photography in this 1 & 1/2 hr birthday extravaganza! Look, laugh, learn and touch reptiles for the first hour. Then, the instructor will hold the large python and each child will have the opportunity to come up to the snake and touch it, while a picture is taken. Then the pictures will be printed out and everybody will be able to take their own reptile photo home as a remembrance!

THE GREAT REPTILES
This show brings a 5-7ft American Alligator, a 5ft Water Monitor Lizard and a 15-17ft, 80-100 lb Burmese Python, among others, to your event. These are the biggest reptiles in any show in NJ. Presented either by Snakes-N-Scales’ founder and herpetologist Bill B. or his Senior Edu-Tainer Chris Bean. Learn and be amazed with a combination of humor, awe and compassion for creatures to which most people rarely get this close.
This is good large venue program where there will be lots of people.
This show needs a lot of space, no less than 12x6 ft just for us. Not including the audience. Two six foot tables must be provided.

U-Pick’Em
We thought that since we have so many different reptiles, and so many different shows to choose from that we should come up with a way for YOU to pick a set of animals for YOUR own show. After all, you can never have enough choices! “U-PICK’EM” is just that type of show. You have a list of animals, each with their own cost bracket, from which you pick 10 (ten) animals for the show. Then you name 2 (two) backup animals for the “just-in-case” clause...and there is your show. Just click here, fill out the U-PICK’EM form and we will do the rest.

RESCUE-A-REPTILE
|
|
Not only do we have a great selection of programs for your birthday,but we also offer Rescue-A-Reptile for families— Snakes-N-Scales is unlike all other organizations of it’s kind because the animals we use are unwanted orphans that we have rescued. In some cases the animal simply needed a home and some care, but in many cases it needed medicine, surgery or more. We now give you an opportunity to join us in our mission. As a gift or for your own family you can help us help them. You may choose which animal you’d like to find out more about and receive a photo of that animal and a few small thank you gifts as well. Perhaps you may even be able to be visited by the very animal you’ve chosen. (Snakes-N-Scales is not a non-profit organization and your purchase of a sponsorship is not tax deductible.)
