Our modern entertainment is doing little more than following a long tradition of snake fear, "ophidiaphobia." Most societies, going back thousands of years, have myths and legends of great warriors proving themselves by slaying a monster serpent. What is perhaps most amusing, is that if snakes really acted as they do in fiction, as this one is, people without guns would have little chance. A snake of this size behaving this way, could easily kill a human in just the manner portrayed here. What he's going to do with that sword is a mystery to me, he's already lost.
