Have ever seen any of the “Aliens” movies and marvelled at the inventiveness of having a double jaw, where an interior mobile jaw, full of razor sharp teeth, shoots out from inside the stationary one? If you have don’t marvel too much because they got the idea from these creatures. Moray eels have that exact set up, an interior jaw that you can’t see but is active and waiting deep in the throat of the eel and can be launched forward to grapple with whatever the outer jaw has a hold of. |
