THE STRANGE WORLD OF REPTILES
In this program, the four main groups of reptiles; crocodilians, turtles, lizards and snakes are discussed. This program focuses on behavior and adaptation using the life stories of the individual animals, fun facts, anecdotes and animal eye-views as instruction. For upper grades greater emphasis will be given to predator-prey relations, relationships with humans, individual animal personality and whether these animals are appropriate pets. The opportunity to touch some of these animals may also be possible.

EXTINCTION IN THE TROPICAL RAINFOREST

Travel in your mind to a tropical rainforest and investigate the pressures that are causing its creatures to become extinct. Meet reptiles and amphibians: like the oddly named carpet python, that lives in trees; the poisonous cane toad that is supposed to be some place else; the cousin to the alligator, the caiman, which looks as if it was chipped from chocolate; and of course the big and beautiful burmese python. These animals are trying to survive the changes that we are producing in these amazing places. Education is the first step to the understanding of a problem, learn what we can all do to make this a better world and come be a part of the solution!

KINGDOM OF THE COLDBLOODS
Similar to "The Strange World of Reptiles" this program also briefly describes amphibian life adaptations with frogs and toads, in addition to snakes, lizards, crocodilians and turtles. The opportunity to touch some of these animals may also be possible.

YER DESSSPICABLE!!
Movie monsters are almost always based on living creatures. The incredible effects of modern film make the monster seem more real than the animals they were made from! Unfortunately many people believe these monster movies to be fact or at least partly fact. This presentation looks at the anacondas, alligators, pythons, tarantulas, scorpions and others that live in our real world.

THE GOOD, THE ICKY AND THE SLIMY
Insects and arachnids, (bugs and spiders) along with frogs and snakes are thought to be "icky" by many people. But did you know that only girl spiders spin webs? Or that frogs are the craziest creatures due to how they drink? Did you know that snakes don’t blink and can’t hear you screaming? The facts about these creatures are even stranger than the fictions people have created! The opportunity to touch some of these animals may also be possible.

REPTILES IN MYTHOLOGY, CULTURE AND HISTORY
Reptiles have penetrated our consciousness and our society to a deep and surprising degree. Look at the literature on dragons, the fables of the snakes, the terror struck and yet majestic accounts of the crocodile, and it isn’t hard to see that these scaly beasts hold a strange and special place in our minds and our history. Using living animals, maps, art and artifacts this survey briefly looks at the roots of why humans have always both feared and respected reptiles. The cultures of Ancient Egypt, Rome, Polynesia, Medieval Europe and the Modern West are touched upon.

FASCINATING SNAKES
Pythons and boas are the giants of the snake world, some reaching several hundred pounds and over 20 feet. King snakes will attack and eat rattlesnakes because they are unharmed by the rattlers venom, but they would rather eat a mouse. Hognose snakes are considered “cute” by many people but have several big surprises hiding in their little bodies. Anacondas are the Godzillas of the snake world. At 600 lbs they inspire awe and fear but they are shy and misunderstood. This show looks at these amazing “no-legged” creatures; the who, what, where and whys of snakes.

THE GREAT REPTILES
This show brings a 5-7ft American Alligator, a 5ft Water Monitor Lizard and a 15-17ft, 80-100 lb Burmese Python, among others, to your event. These are the biggest reptiles in any show in NJ. Presented either by Snakes-N-Scales’ founder and herpetologist Bill B. or his Senior Edu-Tainer Chris Bean. Learn and be amazed with a combination of humor, awe and compassion for creatures to which most people rarely get this close.

This is good large venue program where there will be lots of people.

This show needs a lot of space, no less than 12x6 ft just for us. Not including the audience. Two six foot tables must be provided!

Rescue-A-Reptile

Not only do we have a great selection of programs for your school with hundreds of animals, curriculum help, vocabulary and activities, but we also offer Rescue-A-Reptile for the class or school— Snakes-N-Scales is unlike all other organizations of it’s kind because the animals we use are unwanted orphans that we have rescued. In some cases the animal simply needed a home and some care, but in many cases it needed medicine, surgery or more. We now give you an opportunity to join us in our mission. You may choose which animal you’d like to have as your class mascot, receive a color photo, personal story, lesson plan and some other helpful gifts from Snakes-N-Scales. Perhaps you may even be able to have the animal visit your class!! (Snakes-N-Scales is not a non-profit organization and your purchase of a sponsorship is not tax deductible.)
