SCOUT SHOWS!!

|
A Snakes-N-Scales presentation is a unique experience. Our shows are thematic so you can choose which show your Troop, Den or Pack prefers or have us back many times and not see the same show! We use jokes, stories, "animal's-eye" views of the world, anecdotes, factoids, questions and answers and a gentle, controlled, touching experience to make everyone laugh, think and feel. They will laugh because it's fun, so they will remember it. They will think, thanks to our engaging, experienced teachers. They will touch some animals so they will feel its reality and hopefully someday, when they look back on this event, remember and understand that these creatures are our neighbors on Earth. We can handle anything from a Den meeting with a few scouts in it, to Blue & Gold Dinners with 200+ people.
NJ Reptiles - We can even help your Pack, or Den, qualify for a badge with 8-10 native NJ species; or mix it up with a few exotics as well. If you like, we can bring display cages and give your whole group a quiz that same day.

THE STRANGE WORLD OF REPTILES In this program, the four main groups of reptiles; crocodilians, turtles, lizards and snakes are discussed. As part of the program, behaviors, habitats, adaptations, predator-prey relations, relationships with humans, individual animal personality and whether these animals are appropriate pets will be introduced.
|
KINGDOM OF THE COLDBLOODS Similar to "The Strange World of Reptiles" this program also briefly describes amphibian life adaptations with frogs and toads, in addition to snakes, lizards, crocodilians and turtles.

EXTINCTION IN THE TROPICAL RAINFOREST Habitat destruction, invasive or alien species, population, pollution and overdevelopment make up the "HIPPO" that is destroying the tropical rainforests of the world. Reptiles and amphibians are used as representatives of the effects these processes create.
|
THE GOOD, THE ICKY AND THE SLIMY Insects and arachnids, (bugs and spiders) along with frogs and snakes are thought to be "icky" by many people. The facts about these creatures are even stranger than the fictions people have created!

YER DESSSPICABLE!! Movie monsters are almost always based on living creatures. The incredible effects of modern film make the monster seem more real than the animals they were made from! This presentation looks at the anacondas, alligators, tarantulas, scorpions and others that live in our real world.
|
DINOSAURS AND FOSSILS This program looks at the facts and the theories about dinosaurs using actual fossils and replicas. We will compare dinosaurs with a living alligator and lizard.Thinking scientifically will be fostered as well as a basic understanding of evolution and extinction.

REPTILES IN MYTHOLOGY, CULTURE AND HISTORY Reptiles have penetrated our consciousness and our society to a deep and surprising degree. Using living animals, maps, art and artifacts this survey briefly looks at the roots of why humans have always both feared and respected reptiles. The cultures of Ancient Egypt, Rome Polynesia, Medieval Europe and the Modern West are touched upon.
|
FASCINATING SNAKES Pythons, kingsnakes, hognose snakes, anacondas and more; snakes of all sizes and descriptions, the who, what, where and whys of snakes.

THE GREAT REPTILES This show brings a 5-7ft American Alligator, a 5ft Water Monitor Lizard and a 15-17ft, 80-100 lb Burmese Python, among others, to your event. These are the biggest reptiles in any show in NJ. Presented either by Snakes-N-Scales’ founder and herpetologist Bill B. or his Senior Edu-Tainer Chris Bean. Learn and be amazed with a combination of humor, awe and compassion for creatures to which most people rarely get this close.
This is good large venue program where there will be lots of people.
This show needs a lot of space, no less than 12x6 ft just for us. Not including the audience. Two six foot tables must be provided. **Please call for the price of this program for your event!
